Maharaja: The Splendor of India’s Royal Courts

Art exhibit, featuring paintings, photography, rich textiles, opulent jewelry, and beautiful furniture, which trace the change in the institution of Indian kingship from the collapse of the Moghul Empire in the early 18th century through the end of British rule in 1947. Also featuring teh work of author and artist Sanjay Patel, whose work will be featured on the third floor of the museum, where he is carefully connecting his modern-day interpretations of Hinduism with pieces from the museum’s permanent collection.
